Trinoluar or binocular stereo zoom maxxiLEDscope 7.5X - 100X with/without high resolution digital camera

maxxiLEDscope-1

maxxiLEDscope-2

Overview
The GEMLAB maxxiLEDscope is the first microscope of its kind built specifically to satisfy all gemological applications and associated uses for photomicrography. The LEDscope was designed in 2008 by Ted Themelis, a veteran in gemological instrumentation since 1979, using revolutionary, energy efficient, highly reliable, ultra compact Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) having considerable advantages over the conventional light.
The LED bulbs are made from premium semiconductor parts having life expectancy 100,000 hours. The LED bulbs never get hot because they are virtually heatless, without producing the familiar yellow tinge commonly in other microscopes. The LEDscope's digital lighting system is designed, configured and assembled in two separate modular electronic printed circuit boards (PCB), without transformer or other mechanical parts.
|The LEDscope is virtually maintenance free because there are no bulbs or other parts to replace. The LED system provides electrically noise-free, stable, free of spikes and flickers lighting environments, substantially reducing the eye fatigue. The are two configurations available:
  • maxxiLEDscope model-1. Inclined version
  • maxxiLEDscope model-2. Steady version (preferred)

These microscopes are built upon special order to fit the client's exact needs offering choice of binolular or trinocular observation, type of digital camera, zoom range, inclined version (model-1) or steady version (model-2). The client may select the componments to fit specific applications or use his own is available

Features & Specifications

MICROSCOPE BASE (model-1)
Ergonomically designed aluminum casted, low-profile, slick base equipped with a tilting mechanism with mechanical lock for most comfortable position allowing the gemologist to work for hours without posture fatigue. The base is ergonomically designed, occupying minimum desk space (only 18 x 28 cm), thus providing extra workspace for the gemologist. The microscope base is painted black and houses the electronics and all associated lighting parts.

DUAL FOCUSING MECHANISM (model 1 or model-2)
Universal rack and pinion microscope arm is equipped with non-slipping clutch; working distance is 110 mm. The optical pod swivels 360° around the microscope arm holder. Focusing is facilitated with dual coarse-focus knobs and dual fine-focus knobs for precise control especially when working at high magnifications. Chrome-plated pole is screwed into the microscope base and holds securely the microscope arm and optics with a safety locking ring.
DARK FIELD ILLUMINATION (model 1 or model-2)
The dark field effect is achieved using 32 high-intensity LED's with color temperature of 5500°K-6000°K; variable intensity control produce superb lighting environment. The industry-standard 59mm iris diaphragm is detachable from the microscope stage. A detachable industry-standard 94mm frosted plate can also be fitted in lieu of the iris diaphragm.

REFLECTED OVERHEAD ILLUMINATION (model 1 or model-2)
Two types of overhead reflected LED illumination are provided, both housed in drum-type adjustable fixture: Turning the knob in one position, an assembly of 18-LED-bulbs produces white-daylight with color temp. of 5500°K-6000°K. Turning the knob in the other position, an assembly of 18-LED builds provides long wave ultraviolet (390nm) incident illumination. The intensity of either LED type is controlled with a variable dimmer, and it is indicated by a dual-function pilot light (red for daylight, green for UV).

dual 3W LED lights

INCIDENT SUPER BRIGHT INCDENT ILLUMINATION (model 1 or model-2)
Dual, gooseneck, self-supported light-guides are fixed on the right and left side of the microscope base providing incident illuminatiopn using super bright single 3W LED bulb; these are the brightest bulbs available in the lighting industry. Each LED light is separately controllede with dimmer and on-off switrches; this type of LED is used where indident, bright illumination is needed examining diamonds, colored gemstones and jewelry..

LED plugged into USB

INCIDENT LOW INTENSITY ILLUMINATION (optional)
Four incident LED light assemblies, self-supported gooseneck, fitted into one of the two USB plug & play ports illuminates the gem in any position:

a) Two white light guides with color temperature 5500°K which are used for pinpoint illumination, microphotography.
b) One light guide with wavelength 590 nm as light source for refractometer
c) One light guide with wavelength 390 nm for long-wave ultraviolet

DIGITAL CAMERA (model 1 or model-2)
High quality industrial digital camera with CMOS sensor, to 19 Mpixels, USB port, power supply; eyepiece microscope adaptor included; ready to use, plugs into any PC computer. Images can be captured at high resolution and saved in TIFF, JPEG, and BMP formats. Software included.

tweezer, clip-type

tweezer-wirec-type

GEM HOLDERS ON MAGENTIC POST (model 1 or model-2)
Innovative gemstone tweezers with magnetic set on a post. Two types (clip and wire types are provided. The gem-holders are placed effortlessly on their posts fixed on each side of the microscope platform for maximum manipulation of the gemstone being examined.

ELECTRONICS (model 1 or model-2)
Three PCBs provide the necessary power for all lighting systems, controlled independently. No moving parts, no transformers are used. The PCD are not repairable. In the event of faillure will be replaced for free (warrantee is 5 years).
POWER (MAINS): (model 1 or model-2)
Mains voltage (110-220Vac) is automatically chosen, so the LEDscope can be used anywhere in the world without adapters. The 110-220 Vac port is located opposite to the gemologist’s sitting position.
DIMENSIONS: 18 cm (width) x 28 (depth) x 40 cm (high)
WEIGHT: Shipping weight about 14 kilos
MAINTENANCE: The GEMLAB maxxiLEDscope requires no maintenance:
